Vintage 1940s Sombol Chronograph Landeron Blue Telemeter Tachymeter Watch. Denotes current condition. Therefore you should expect to service this watch if you are a responsible collector. I like to save them from that demise and get them back into the hands of collectors. Beautiful vintage 1940s Sombol chronograph powered by a Landeron movement, featuring a stunning two-tone copper dial with an eye-catching electric blue telemeter scale and tachymeter track. The watch is currently running, as shown in the video. However, there are no service records available, and it may require servicing in the near future for reliable long-term operation. The gold plating shows the expected wear consistent with the age of the watch. The case back has some rust pitting, visible in the photos. The acrylic crystal has scratches and signs of use. An extremely attractive and charismatic vintage chronograph with strong 1940s design language and beautiful dial details. You are bidding for a vintage classic watch in very nice all round condition as one can see in the pictures/video. The movement is in working condition but may not operate as a brand new watch. The watch may need servicing for regular use and the buyer will need to have this done. As with all used watches I do not guarantee accuracy or water resistance. Often times these watches have been forgotten in a jewelers desk or in a back room for 30 plus years. I like to save them from that demise and get them back into the hands of collectors. It doesn't take very long for old gummy oil to stop a movement from running ( many times just a week or so ) or even worse if the oil is dried out it might not take too long for the watch to grind itself up inside. This is not specific to my watches, but to all that have not been serviced in the last few years. For this reason we only wind a watch a few turns to verify if it will go through the paces, so please understand I can only tell you if the watch is running here. I am not putting a guarantee on the performance of a watch in regards to timing or longevity.
