Vintage Girard-Perregaux Spider Lug Steel Watch Blue & Cream Dial 1940s. Denotes current condition. Therefore you should expect to service this watch if you are a responsible collector. I like to save them from that demise and get them back into the hands of collectors. Vintage Girard-Perregaux wristwatch from the 1940s/50s era, featuring a beautiful two-tone cream and electric blue dial housed in a very distinctive stainless steel case with dramatic spider-style lugs. A truly eye-catching and uncommon design with great vintage character. The watch is currently running, however it has not been mechanically inspected and there is no recent service history available. A proper service and maintenance are strongly recommended before regular use. The stainless steel case shows normal wear consistent with age, including some oxidation/pitting marks on the back side of the case, as shown in the photos. The movement is in working condition but may not operate as a brand new watch. The watch may need servicing for regular use and the buyer will need to have this done. Often times these watches have been forgotten in a jewelers desk or in a back room for 30 plus years. I like to save them from that demise and get them back into the hands of collectors. It doesn't take very long for old gummy oil to stop a movement from running ( many times just a week or so ) or even worse if the oil is dried out it might not take too long for the watch to grind itself up inside. This is not specific to my watches, but to all that have not been serviced in the last few years. For this reason we only wind a watch a few turns to verify if it will go through the paces, so please understand I can only tell you if the watch is running here. I am not putting a guarantee on the performance of a watch in regards to timing or longevity.
