Embroidered blouse by Amuzga women of Oaxaca. The cotton used in the muslin fabric is a natural fiber, which makes it an ecological and fresh option. Embroidered muslin blouses have a pre-Hispanic and mestizo origin, strongly rooted in Mexican culture. Embroidery, an ancestral tradition, merged with the arrival of the Spanish and their techniques, giving rise to unique styles in each region. The embroidery technique already existed in Mexico before the arrival of the Spanish, using materials such as cotton and agave fibers.
