Vintage Omega 198.030 F300 Electronic Chronometer cal. 1250 (1970) Serviced Run. 1250, has been serviced and cleaned. It looks clean externally and currently has a new battery installed. The crystal has a few scratches and two cracks — one near 12 o’clock and another near 5 o’clock — visible from certain angles. Vintage and very iconic Omega f300, the so-called “singing watch.” Its tuning fork movement generates a pleasant 300Hz vibration, creating an exceptionally smooth sweep of the seconds hand. This is a complete and original watch that has been recently serviced, with a new Renata 344 battery installed. It hums properly, the quick-set date works, and the hacking/setting functions operate correctly as well. I have not measured the accuracy second-by-second, as I do not use it as a stopwatch or timing instrument, but over the past few weeks it has shown good timekeeping. The popular reference for this model is ref. 198.030, featuring a large gold-plated case. Below is a description of the watch’s external condition. The case has some average to minor gold plating wear on the edges, near the lugs, and along the sides. There are also some minor to moderate scratches on the case; overall, I would say it presents well for its age. The crystal has a few scratches and two cracks — one near 12 o’clock and another near 5 o’clock — visible from certain angles. It is the original authentic Omega crystal and remains fully functional, so it has been kept as is. The gold-plated hands show deep patina. They still retain a nice shine, though there is some micro-oxidation due to age. The dial is in excellent condition, with only a few tiny patina spots and slight patina on the baton indices. The winding crown has lost a bit of its original shape and some of its gold plating. It shows scratches and wear, and the Omega logo is barely visible. The caseback has a few minor and some moderate scratches; overall it remains in good condition. The waterproof gasket has been replaced with a new one. The movement, cal. 1250, has been serviced and cleaned. It looks clean externally and currently has a new battery installed. The watch comes with an original Omega 18mm leather strap, which has slight wear from display/storage on a stand, but overall remains in great condition. The item condition rating is based on the external condition relative to the worst to perfect storage condition, and points are awarded relative to the difference between these two extreme conditions (visual look).
