Rare late 19th century Egyptian Revival style solid rose gold pendant/personal seal fob on original gold chain/silk ribbon suspension. This Egyptian Revival type was inspired by the cultural fascination with ancient Egypt in the 19th century. A finely detailed sitting sphinx on a hand-engraved “pedestal” with a neoclassical style monogram N A R. The entire set is about 11.9 grams total; the sphinx is about 24.14 mm long at the base, 8.8 mm wide, 21.53 mm tall from the base to the loop's top. The ring is about 18.2 mm. The sphinx rose gold piece is unmarked; tested 14K. Yellow gold suspension chain is marked 14K on the latch. Original black silk ribbon is fair with some fraying on the edges.
