This is a Custom "One of a kind" Art piece, from my "Private Collection" created for me of The Aztec/Mayan Calendar back in 2004 by Famed "Master Repousse Copper Smith" "VICTOR BONO" R.I.P. "Beautifully done Copper Craftsmanship!! Just check out the Photo's" & all the great detail" Has been sitting in storage till now" It is quite large & heavy Copper wrapped around a large heavy wood base, Now a roll of copper sheet runs around $390" The piece measures 24"s x 24"s round 3"s deep & weighs approximately 23Lbs" It is also signed by him on the plaque" On the back of this piece" The last photos are of a magazine article about him" Along with his business card he gave me" & the last photo is all I could find selling on another site that is kind of Similar to comparison shop??... Now about the artist - As a former inmate, Victor Bono had been teaching the art of copper working, His hopes were that one day it would change the lives of others as it did for him" When he was alive, there was a waiting list of six months to get one of his pieces, Victor Bono was one of the best-kept secrets in the world of copper Art plaques. From corner to corner, his pieces and attention to detail were unparalleled" Yet it was the same common love for his Chicano culture and his art that leaves each of his pieces infused with elements of it's illustrious historical timeline his past Culture" He said I'm from the Chicano Barrio La Colonia in Watts, California. I go there all the time and never forget my roots" He had been into art for well over 30 years" W hat I create is on a single dimensional plane is to create the right angles and give it the right curvature to create depth and intensity. Things need to pop out and speak to U" My father was Sicilian and my mother was Mexican (she was a zoot suiter) I treat my culture with pride. Chicano/Mexican culture is all in me" I want kids to know about the history.
