Matthew Hilly, the band's frontman, has selected songs from the past five albums that are important to Japanese fans. Two songs from each album will be included on 7-inch vinyl records in the image colors of the album jackets (Vinyl 1: clear, Vinyl 2: pink, Vinyl 3: white, Vinyl 4: yellow, Vinyl 5: blue) and released as a boxed set (5 7-inch vinyl records). It is a memorable product filled with the band's love for their Japanese fans. In 2022, the band finally made it to their first headlining slot at Summer Sonic, and in October of the same year, they released their fifth album, "Being Funny In A Foreign Language" (外国語での言葉遊び). In April of this year, at the peak of their career, the band completed the largest Japan tour in their history, "THE 1975 AT THEIR VERY BEST JAPAN 2023," with great success, selling out tickets (with some additional seats available) for all five shows held in four cities: Tokyo, Yokohama, Nagoya, and Osaka. The tour attracted a total of 42,000 people, making it a large-scale tour.
