SORRY THIS PRODUCT HAS BEEN DISCONTINUED - NO MORE ARE AVAILABLE This kit of parts allows you to make a professional 12V always-on power tap for your dashcam that connects between the Tesla Model S intrusion module connector and the optional intrusion module. This is a kit of parts, and you have to do the assembly. The second image shows how it looks when assembled. Full instructions are available at our TeslaTap site, and we'll also include the link with your purchase. Parts are automotive grade, designed to withstand wide temperature ranges typically encountered in vehicles. The cable is designed for both two and three wire dashcams. Availability Not all Model S cars have the intrusion connector for always-on power. You should confirm you have the connector before purchasing the kit. Not suitable for the mid-2021 Model S or later that no longer has the connectors in the headliner. All Model S cars made after September 16, 2015 and before January 2021, will have the always-on power connector, and most cars from 2012 through late 2013 also include always-on power as do all European cars. Non-European cars made in 2014 and 2015 may not have the connector, or it may be tapped up with the large wire bundle in the headliner and hard to extract. The third photo shows how the taped connector on the microphone panel looks in a vehicle without the intrusion module. After I realized the assembled version of this wouldn't work, because my dashcam needs the 12V converted to 5V, I got this kit, because it was the simplest way to get the individual parts I needed to make a streamlined power adapter, using the wires and connector from this kit, combined with the innards of an off-the-shelf cigarette lighter plug 12V-to-USB converter to provide the power conversion. Kit arrived quickly, doesn't look like I should have trouble making what I need from it.
