Made in Taiwan, this book is a testament to the diverse and profound literary traditions of the region. the various collections of hymns used in church life before 1968, with the addition of new writings, new translations, and new collections. The first, second, selected, supplementary and gospel hymns previously used totaled 724. After careful consideration by all parties, only 476 were retained, along with 139 newly written in English and revised in Chinese, 111 newly translated from various foreign poetry collections, and 54 newly collected from the previous Shanghai edition of 1,052 poems, totaling 780. The entire poem is divided into 29 major categories, each category is divided into several small items, totaling 345 items, which are listed in the catalog in order and printed at the top of each page for easy reference. Some of the old poems that have been retained have been modified considerably based on usage experience and to enhance their meaning and rhyme, in order to make them more applicable. The poetry score is mainly in five-line notation, with simplified notation as a supplement, to meet the needs of the general public. There are 644 poems in the complete collection, the same as the English poetry collection. Therefore, the number of the English poem is noted in parentheses after the rhythm of each identical poem so that both the Chinese and English collections can be sung at the same time. There is a first sentence index printed at the end of the poetry collection. The first sentence of each main poem is in Song font, and the first sentence of the chorus is in bold font, arranged in order of the number of strokes. For portability, this poetry collection is printed in two versions: a regular edition and a reduced edition. The poems in this collection were all written, compiled or revised by us.
