Sterling Money Clip SF Guardsmen $1000 Club 1968 Bon Vivant John Patrick Short John Patrick Short (1934-1995) was a 4th generation San Franciscan, merchant & raconteur. A founder and partner in several well-known San Francisco clubs and saloons, he was best known as a bon vivant, a good humored philanthropist and the owner of the landmark Polk Street liquor store, Sukkers Likkers. A member of the Guardsmen since 1964, he served on the board of the charitable organization's board of directors for some years. The Guardsmen, started in 1947, is an organization of professionals who wanted to give back to the community by providing youth from disadvantaged backgrounds outdoor programs. He was also an avid domino player and was on the board of directors for the International Domino Association. What a guy! What a life! This is a money clip that was presented to him by the Guardsmen in 1968. Sterling silver, it measures 1 7/8" x 15/16" and weighs a bit under 24 grams. Excellent condition. Being sold in its lovely and charming as is condition.
