Description
This dish has unique, natural ridges that make it one of a kind. A small fern was pressed into the center to leave a lasting, fossil-esque impression to further tie this piece of art back to its roots from the clay in Washington. While working as a logger, Stan Langtwait molded figures out of mud and clay. He made birds and animals and more. He then placed these shapes on tree stumps to dry and collected them at the end of the day. Starting in the 1950s, he created pottery known as "Shapes of Clay" at his factory in Graham, WA. After the eruption of Mount St. Helens in 1980, Stan incorporated ash from the mountain into his statues.
The item was as described, fairly priced, and adequately packaged for shipping. My issue is that the seller asked how the item should be shipped and provided rates for different options. I explicitly selected UPS because the postal service does not deliver to my area, but UPS does. The seller shipped the package through the postal service anyway! It was lost for several weeks. Only in that I footnoted my PO Box did it eventually find me. The seller was communicative about the mishap though.
