That said, this is still a fantastic collector/display piece and a highly desirable retro cassette player. Rare vintage Sony WM-8 Walkman cassette player — the iconic model seen in Stranger Things . This unit is in wonderful cosmetic condition overall and displays beautifully, with only minor wear to the front housing. Includes the original shoulder straps, which are often missing. The battery compartment is exceptionally clean with no signs of corrosion. The unit has been tested and DOES play tapes. During initial testing there was some variance in playback speed, though it seemed to stabilize as the unit continued playing. Please understand that these vintage Walkman units commonly require belt service due to age, and adjustment or belt replacement may be needed for perfect operation.
