This auction features a fabulous original Seiko men's day/date watch with sports styling. This is one in a series of high-end, superior quality timepieces originally manufactured in the late 1980's by Seiko for Disney and are now retired and out-of-production. This collector's classic is in excellent condition and running strong with new battery placed. This model is chock-full of unique features that make it a watch collector's dream. The oversized steel case is gold-plated, and has a black sports style bezel with gold stud accents and white letters spelling out "MICKEY MOUSE" to mark the hour positions (with a white dot at the six). The lightweight black rubberized strap is comfortable and water resistant. The inset dial has a crisp white background that contrasts beautifully with the black and gold case, with a raised outer rim marking off the seconds/minutes with black bar indices. A rare and attractive full-figure colorful Mickey Mouse stands in the dial center, with his hands pointing to the time. A day/date calendar window is situated at the 3:00 position, with the day settings available in both English and Spanish. Raised gold bars indicate the hour positions with a double bar at the twelve, and the Seiko Quartz and Disney logos are both printed on the dial. The watch is fitted with a patented Seiko Hardlex scratch-resistant crystal and is water-proof, with a unique screw-down style caseback that protects your timepiece. The original watch band had to be removed as it had lost integrity over the years. The new band is a black rubberized model that is comfortable and easy to use. The crystal has no marks or scratches.
