Description
SSI Shredding System ME55E (40) 25 HP Dual-Shear shredder. This is Dual-Shear M55 series low speed, high torque, two shaft rotary shear shredder designed to handle tough materials like paper, metal and plastic. This model is typically used for bulky item reduction and product destruction. Following are unit details: 22" x 40" cutting chamber with standard funnel style hopper. Individually removable cleaning fingers. Unit has an optional removable (bolts in place) breaker bar that attaches to the support stand. The breaker bar helps minimize the length of friable/brittle materials like wood. Support stand is 48" tall x 84" inside ID between support legs. Unit is powered by a TEFC 460/3/60 motor. Control panel components are by Allen-Bradley with touch screen operator interface. Amperage overload & torque coupling slippage reversing rotors. Auto shutdown if frequent reversal of shredder occurs. Nema 4 control panel is mounted and 100% wired on the shredder support frame. UL/CUL 508 listed electrical panel. Logic to start/stop based on input from feed and discharge devices (conveyors). The shredder is set on a heavy-duty swivel wheeled movable frame that is designed to have a fork-liftable dumpster slid underneath. The 60 foot of power cord allows for flexibility for unit placement. The shredder has a full set of maintenance/operation/service and detailed drawings. Used has only 152 hours of total operation. The shredder was used to pre-process wood fiber and plastics in a materials testing facility. The original design selections for this shredder 750 lbs/hour of wood pallets, black bag garbage, plastics and paper.
