The jacket carries the “Duophonic – For Stereo Phonographs” banner on the front and the RIAA Gold Record Award seal with the number 9 on the back, identifying it as a Modern Album Co., Terre Haute, Indiana print, used for Jacksonville, Illinois pressings. Format: Vinyl LP, 33 ⅓ RPM Label: Capitol Records Catalog Number: DT-2458 Country: U.S. Released: c. 1968 (later jacket variation of the original 1966 issue) Pressing Plant: Capitol Records Pressing Plant, Jacksonville, Illinois Cover: Front zoo photograph, laminated finish, back cover with photo collage and RIAA seal #9 (printed by Modern Album Co., Terre Haute, Indiana). The #9 code was introduced slightly later, around 1967–1968, and is not from the very first 1966 jacket run, though the contents remain Capitol’s early Duophonic stereo issue. Collectors note that absence or presence of RIAA numbers does not change the album mix (still Duophonic), but helps to date the printing batch of the cover. Tracklist: Side One: Wouldn’t It Be Nice / You Still Believe in Me / That’s Not Me / Don’t Talk (Put Your Head on My Shoulder) / I’m Waiting for the Day / Let’s Go Away for Awhile / Sloop John B Side Two: God Only Knows / I Know There’s an Answer / Here Today / I Just Wasn’t Made for These Times / Pet Sounds / Caroline, No In summary: This is an authentic Jacksonville pressing of Pet Sounds in Duophonic Stereo, with jacket variation RIAA #9 (Modern Album Co., Indiana). While not from the very first 1966 jacket batch, it remains a desirable and collectible late-1960s Capitol pressing of one of rock’s most influential albums. Follow me on Instagram

  1. Absolute flawless international shipping, was fun to see all the stops the package made during delivery, van halen box set was packed professionally and shipped priority without any import tax at all. Item was exactly as described and the only one available anywhere, item was unopened sealed and considered extremely rare from 1984. This was the best experience I've ever had on ebay, all questions were answered directly and promptly. Definitely saving this seller for future purchases. Thank you

  2. The records were as described, honest seller. I wish I had information from seller that the tracking wasn’t to my address, that it was going to a different address, and then being forwarded. Following the tracking had me concerned. So I recommend buyers communicate with the seller to understand that the tracking may not (at least in my case) indicate that it might go to a different address. Once it was forwarded I did receive tracking to my home. Still, great records, safe packaging.
