Rare Vintage 1920s Rose Engine Machine Carved Black Bakelite Bangle Bracelet. Which is a piece of art in its own right. It works by cutting grooves like the first Edison cylidrical recording devices did. So, if you were to put this on one of those players, you would get a sound and maybe a tune！The Rose Engine works by having cams lift the cutting head, creating the raised parts of the pattern. This extremely rare bakelite bangle is a true piece of history, an original 1920s piece that’s been carved by a Rose Engine machine. Which is a piece of art in its own right. It works by cutting grooves like the first Edison cylidrical recording devices did. So, if you were to put this on one of those players, you would get a sound and maybe a tune！The Rose Engine works by having cams lift the cutting head, creating the raised parts of the pattern. When you look very closely, you can see the continuous groove on the cut, recessed part of the pattern. These were mostly used for watch patterns, and the very first postage stamp die was made this way. Good vintage condition with normal surface wear from age and use. Tested positive with simichrome. Approximately 2 1/2" opening and 5/8" wide.
