Description

For your consideration, we are pleased to offer for sale this circa 1978 Parker 75 Ambassador Fountain Pen from the Heritage Collection, crafted in Sterling Silver with a vertical black-lined pattern and fitted with a 14K Gold Fine nib. This exceptional example remains Mint, New Old Stock, and never inked, preserved exactly as issued. It is accompanied by the original Parker presentation box and literature, making it a particularly desirable offering for the discerning collector. The Ambassador model has a fascinating origin within Parker’s history. The design first appeared not under Parker’s own name, but as a private-label writing instrument for luxury retailers beginning in 1966. Prestigious jewelers such as Tiffany & Co. and Saks Fifth Avenue offered this distinctive pen years before Parker officially adopted the model. The Tiffany version featured sterling silver clip and end tassies with the Tiffany name stamped on the cap band, while the Saks variant was produced with gold-plated trim. In 1978, Parker formally introduced the model under its own branding as the Ambassador, maintaining the elegant chrome trim and black enamel-lined design while updating the end tassies to a dished profile. Several variations of the cap imprint exist. Most examples display the Parker Name and Sterling Silver hallmark on the back of the cap, while a much rarer configuration carries the Parker name stamped on the cap band beneath the clip. The example offered here features this scarce imprint variation, a detail that collectors rarely encounter and one that significantly enhances the pen’s desirability within the Parker 75 Heritage series. The Sterling Silver finish with vertical black enamel lines is beautifully executed and remains in magnificent condition. Both the cap and barrel are immaculate, free from dents, dings, scratches, or repairs. There is some tarnish displayed on the Sterling and I will polish should the next owner request it. The cap secures firmly to the barrel via its original friction-fit closure. The cap band is crisply stamped “PARKER” beneath the clip, while the reverse side bears the imprint “STERLING CAP & BARREL U.S.A.” There are no monograms or personal engravings, preserving the pen’s originality and collector integrity. The pen measures 5 1/8 inches capped, 5 1/2 inches posted, and weighs approximately .80 ounces, offering a refined balance and comfortable presence in hand. This example is equipped with a Parker factory ink converter, which has been tested with water and functions exactly as intended. The pen can also be used with Parker ink cartridges for added versatility. The pen is fitted with a superb 14K solid gold nib, stamped “PARKER 14K POINT U.S.A.” The feed is marked “F” for a Fine point, and the iridium tipping measures .56mm using digital calipers, confirming a true Fine nib. Importantly, the pen has never been inked or dipped, preserving the nib in pristine, factory-fresh condition for its next owner. Increasingly difficult to locate in Mint, never-inked condition, and particularly rare with the Parker imprint located beneath the clip, this Heritage Collection Ambassador represents a collector-grade example of one of Parker’s most intriguing and historically significant designs. Whether chosen as a refined writing instrument or preserved as a centerpiece within a distinguished fountain pen collection, it is a remarkable addition to any serious Parker enthusiast’s arsenal. 1. Okay, here we go. I purchased a Sheaffer Triumph Imperial in burgundy with a fine nib. It was well packaged in plenty of bubble wrap and shipped in strong box. I did not mind the shipping fee because the packing was excellent and I received prompt (lightning, actually) response to my offer. The pen was described as "never inked. "The pen appeared to be new and to work like it was new. Excellent nib. I selected the proper ink (Thank you, Copilot!) and the pen wrote like a dream.

  2. Admittedly, I was more than slightly uncertain about purchasing an older fountain pen on this platform. Thankfully, any misgivings were unfounded with this seller. They shipped the pen quickly and packaged it securely. The pen arrived in excellent condition is exactly as described. It's a beautiful pen that feels great in the hand. Value is ultimately subjective in these sorts of things, but I feel positively about the price I paid. Overall, this was a great seller!

  3. Great seller. Excellent communication. Very happy with my purchase. Filofax exotics are well made and worth the price. I already owned a Filofax ostrich in the color buttercup but still couldn’t pass this black one up. They simply don’t make them like this anymore. Item was shipped fast and thoughtfully packaged. Thank you.
