Positive Rate sunglasses are designed to fully comply with these recommendations. The lens frames are made from stainless steel. The ear pieces are a titanium alloy. High quality metals were selected to ensure that your eye wear will withstand long duty days. Wire thin shape to feel light and comfortable while you are wearing them for the long haul and slender enough not to interfere with headsets. For storage, the frames fold slender to fit in a shirt pocket or store in a protective clothe bag and a hard case (both are included with purchase). The poly carbonate lens are Neutral Gray to provide muted but clearly transmitted color and provides 100% UV Protection without interfering with the visual picture. FAA recommendations are 15 to 30% light transmittance to reduce glare but not prevent recognition of visual cues. These lens provide 20% transmittance. The lens are Not Polarized. Polarized lenses can interfere with color recognition causing data on electronic displays to be unreadable at certain angles, multi-layered windshields will appear with a distorted rainbow of colors and increase potential to not see light reflected off of approaching traffic.
