La primera edición de "Poemas de amor" se realizó en la ciudad de Buenos Aires en el año 1926 en los talleres "Porter Hermanos". La obra fue acogida con beneplácito y de inmediato fue reeditada y, luego, ese mismo año, tra-ducida al francés. Años posteriores vinieron otras ediciones y otras traducciones de la que se considera la única obra en prosa es-crita por la poetisa. "Poemas de amor", según la misma au-tora, fue escrita "en pocos días hace ya al-gún tiempo", lo que hace pensar que corres-ponden a la época en la que la autora expe-rimentaba con nuevos estilos y se encontra-ba con nuevas experiencias personales, qui-zás amargas, que marcarían su esencia poé-tica.
