TITLE BELT for PIONEER Welcome to Fox Stylus and Turntable Parts! · Please read Postage / Shipping / Order information below. Genuine PRB Brand Turntable Belt to suit Pioneer PL-30 (pre-1974), PL-41 and PL-50 series turntables. PRB part number is FRL35.1 Specifications: Internal circumference 35.1 ” / 892 mm Cross section (width of belt) 0.240 ” / 6 mm Wall (thickness of belt) 0.023 ” / 0.6 mm The FRL35.1 drive belt has been manufactured specifically for these Pioneer turntable models, to operate at correct pitch. The FRX35.1 belt is sometimes sold as a replacement for these models, however it is a thicker belt (0.9mm wall thickness) and subsequently runs too fast (by about 4%) FRL35.1 has been tested and should be pitch accurate to within 0.5%. Please also read service notes below : Suitable for the following Pioneer turntable models, noting that: · Some model numbers were re-used by Pioneer in later years. · All models below refer to turntables manufactured prior to 1974. · Your turntable should have the motor pulley located under a lift-off cover at the front LHS, and “o utside” the platter (rather than beneath it). C-6000 (Music Centre) PL-30 (pre 1974 model only, does not suit PL-30 manufactured from 2014 – see here for a belt to suit the newer model) PL-30/F PL-31 (but not PL-31D) PL-41 PL-41A/F PL-41C PL-41D PL-41DC PL-41FV PL-50 PL-50A PL-50PV PU-31 PU-41A PU-41B … and any other early Pioneer models that conform to the same layout, where a belt length of 35.1 ” / 892mm is appropriate. Service notes: Most of all of the above models suffer from failure of the thrust bearing in the platter bearing assembly. The bearing disc becomes weak from age, and cracks or breaks apart. This will cause the platter to drop, and bearing friction will increase. Replacement thrust bearings are now easily available (Google it) - so always check yours if it ’s not been replaced already. With the belt installed and running, check that the belt is centered evenly between the speed change forks, and does not make contact and drag on either fork. Over time, the motor suspension can sag slightly causing the belt to touch the lower fork. This can be corrected by loosening both grubscrews on the motor pulley, and raising it slightly on the motor shaft to correct the geometry. (Don ’t just bend the selector forks!). This process is described in the service manuals for most models. Always clean motor pulley and belt path around the platter when changing the belt! ******************************************************************************************************************************* POSTAGE / SHIPPING / ORDER INFORMATION (Please read!!)
