Oblong octavo measuring 8" x 6". String tied, black leather over stiff paper boards with "Photographs" stamped in gilt. Contains 54 sepia gelatin silver photographs measuring between 3.5" x 2.5" and 7" x 5" with some captions. Edgewear with a couple pages detached but present thus very good album with near fine photographs with small tears. A photo album containing pictures of a young couple traveling to different places together and later with their children during the early to late 1930s. The couple is often seen sitting next to each other, looking intensely into the camera or wearing big smiles. There is one photo with the young woman mid-laugh with her husband half-smiling as they walk together. Some photographs show the couple's automobile and little flags that read "Parkston, SD" and "Catskill, Mts. NY". Other photographs show the couple's young daughter, Sylvia, in their arms or posing with flowers around their home. There are several beach pictures from Coney Island before the couple have their children and some in 1937 with both their daughter and son posing in a large photograph together. An interesting collection of a young couples' adventures together and later with their family in the late-1930s, showing ordinary life in the middle class during the Great Depression.
