Thank you all for taking the time to check out this speedy! Let me just say, this is a special one for numerous reasons. First, this is a one owner watch. This watch was gifted to an engineer at Hughes Aircraft in California at some point in the 1980s. The engineer that daily wore this watch from the 80s to around 2010 was actually close friends with Ron McNair, one of the famous astronauts who tragically passed away in the Space Shuttle Challenger in 1986. They were friends, and they worked closely at Hughes. As you can tell, this watch has a good story! Another thing that makes this Speedmaster awesome is that it was never polished! As someone who loves watches myself, I think this is awesome, especially for an old speedy. I just had it serviced by Omega, and it was out from September 2025 until late January 2026. They did a full service, and included all of the parts that they replaced. I made sure they didn't polish it, and I even declined the offer for a new dial, which they suggested. They did replace the hands, as I didn't like the way they had aged (old ones are included). The end links on this are a little jingly, which is what you'd expect from a bracelet of this era that was daily worn for so long. Also, I do have the original box! It does not close properly though. The papers are somewhere but currently nowhere to be found. The bracelet is the very desirable 1171 with the 633 end links. The dial has the beautiful tritium plots that have patina'd slightly and evenly. Overall, this is a beautiful example! I appreciate your time looking, and I will happily answer questions.
Ordered a GameCube disc that turned out to be bunk despite not having any major scratches. Had it resurfaced at a local game shop but still no luck. After contacting the seller about the issue he promptly responded and refunded the full amount plus shipping. Not the experience I hoped for as far as the game goes but an excellent standard of service and product guarantee from the vendor. Would reorder if there were multiples as this game was seemingly in good condition, just a fluke.
