The 2252.50 occupies a sweet spot in the Seamaster lineage that's increasingly hard to find: pre-co-axial movement, pre-ceramic bezel, pre-modern-everything, but with the DNA that made the Seamaster an icon. This is the watch that launched a thousand Bond references and then quietly became one of the best neo-vintage dive watches on the market. There are so many things to love about this piece: Neo-vintage style: Sword hands, wave-pattern dial, the distinctive "pizza slice" 12 o'clock marker, lyre lugs, scalloped bezel, the deeply-stamped Hippocampus on the case back, and the love-it-or-hate-it helium escape valve. This is a tool watch with an identity. Genuinely versatile: Rated to 300m with a helium escape valve, it's built for saturation diving, but at 11.5mm thick it disappears under a dress shirt cuff. Bulletproof movement: The Omega caliber 1120, based on the ETA 2892-A2 architecture, is one of the most proven automatic movements in Swiss watchmaking. Reliable, COSC accurate, and inexpensive to service. You won't be chasing an obscure movement specialist when it's time for an overhaul. Dive-ready hardware: 300m rating, helium escape valve, unidirectional bezel with lume pip, screw-down crown with crown guards. Everything where it should be. Have it pressure-tested before any serious water use, as you would with any pre-owned watch. The bracelet(s): The included 'Bond' bracelet (sized to ~6.75" wrist) is one of the most comfortable and distinctive in Omega's catalog. Also included is an 18mm Staib 2792 Milanese mesh bracelet (similar in style to the mesh bracelets Omega fits to several current Seamaster references) for those who prefer a more streamlined look. Two very different personalities for one watch. Condition: This is an honest used watch. There are minor scuffs and scratches consistent with regular wear. No major dents or dings. The bezel is in great shape and turns with the very firm resistance typical of this reference. Crystal is clear. Worth noting: the red tip of the seconds hand has faded to near-white over the years, giving the dial a clean monochromatic look that many owners actually prefer. This watch has been worn and it shows, but it's been cared for, and it shows that too.
