This was for fresh OS installs on MS Surface Pro tablets that have only one USB port. It works great. With a multiple port hub, a thumb drive with Linux can be used with a wired mouse and a wired Keyboard. Otherwise, you do not have the drivers for the onboard keyboard or the unifying app for any logitech wireless mice and keyboards. It's always good thinking to keep at least one wired set of Keyboards and mice for computer's that misbehave. This item was priced right and it works. Good Seller
