Description

This striking piece is a Fenton Art Glass “Cactus” pattern vase in a rich red carnival finish, produced in 1982 for Levay Glass. The “Cactus” design features alternating ribbed and beaded panels with stylized leaf-like motifs, creating a beautifully textured surface that reflects light in fiery red, gold, and amber tones. The piece has the distinctive flared spittoon-style base and scalloped rim, measuring approximately 6 inches tall, and is signed Fenton, as was typical for Levay-exclusive production runs. Only a limited number were made, making these red examples sought after by collectors of contemporary Fenton carnival glass. ⸻ Highlights • Maker: Fenton Art Glass • Pattern: Cactus • Color: Red Carnival (Iridescent Ruby) • Year of Production: 1982 (for Levay Glass) • Form: Spittoon vase / rose bowl • Size: Approx. 6 inches tall • Condition: Excellent, with no chips, cracks, or repairs • Limited production run for Levay Glass ⸻ Additional Note Fenton made the Cactus pattern for Levay in aqua opal (1979) and red (1982). The red examples, like this one, are less common and display exceptional color depth and iridescence compared to later Summit or St. Clair versions.
