This limited promo was distributed only to journalists and radio programmers in conjunction with the 1990 CD re-release. Pressed on lightweight Dynaflex vinyl and housed in a glossy gatefold sleeve with the green “PRESS KIT – For Promotion Only” sticker on front and a gold-stamped “PROMOTIONAL COPY – NOT FOR SALE” notice on the reverse. The set often accompanied a Rykodisc CD promo insert featuring bonus tracks ( Sweet Head , Velvet Goldmine , Ziggy Stardust demo , Lady Stardust demo ), representing Bowie’s archival expansion for the first time. The striking orange “RYK Promo” labels are unique to this internal issue, designed to highlight Rykodisc’s new remaster branding.
