I thought the ring looked like it was sterling and gold as the ridges on one side appeared to me to have tarnish showing in the grooves. I asked the seller to cancel the sale and he did although he did insist that the ring was completely 14K. I could see the mark for the side of the shank that is gold but didn't see anything on the white metal part and the seller didn't accept returns so I was unwilling to take a chance after more carefully looking.
