CIRCA 1983 PARKER PREMIER NIOR / BLACK 18K MEDIUM NIB FOUNTAIN PEN NEW IN BOX. For your consideration, we are pleased to offer for sale this circa 1983 Parker Premier Fountain Pen in the classic Black Lacquer, fitted with an 18K gold Medium nib. This exceptional example remains Mint, New Old Stock and never inked, preserved exactly as issued and complete with its original presentation box, hang tag, literature, pen pouch, nib removal key, and two Parker ink cartridges—a truly outstanding collector’s set. Introduced to the European market on September 12, 1983, during a launch event at the Hôtel de Paris Monte‑Carlo, the Parker Premier represented Parker’s vision for a new flagship writing instrument. Manufactured at Parker’s Meru factory in France, the model was designed as the luxury successor to the celebrated Parker 75. The Premier featured slightly larger proportions, a more contemporary profile, and refined design elements intended to elevate Parker’s prestige line. The design is distinguished by several refined details: faceted decorative cap band rings that catch and reflect light, and flat black onyx end jewels that provide a striking contrast to the lacquered body. Produced from approximately 1983 through 1991, the Premier has become an increasingly desirable model among collectors seeking Parker’s European luxury offerings from this period. This particular example showcases the classic lustrous black lacquer finish. The cap and barrel present in magnificent condition, entirely free from dents, dings, or repairs. The slip cap closes securely to the barrel, and the faceted cap band is crisply stamped “PARKER FRANCE.” Both the cap and barrel remain free of monograms or personal engravings, preserving the pen’s original collector integrity. The pen measures 5 3/8 inches capped, 6 1/8 inches posted, and weighs approximately 1.04 ounces, offering a balanced and refined feel in the hand. This example is fitted with a Parker factory ink converter, which has been tested with water and functions exactly as intended. The pen also accepts Parker ink cartridges, and two original cartridges remain included in the box. The fountain pen is fitted with a beautiful 18K / 750 solid gold nib, stamped “PARKER 750 FRANCE” and bearing both the Eagle hallmark and the Parker “PP” arrow hallmark. The feed is marked “M”, and the iridium tipping measures approximately .68mm using digital calipers, confirming a Medium point. In keeping with its preserved condition, the pen has never been inked or dipped, ensuring the nib remains pristine for the next owner. Included with the pen are the Parker presentation box, hang tag, literature, pen pouch, nib removal key, and two ink cartridges, all carefully preserved.
