Celestron UpClose G2 10x50 Binoculars 71256 71256 Celestron UpClose G2 10x50 Binocular Review The UpClose G2 10x50 binocular is an affordable, no frills binocular that combines powerful 10x magnification and superior light gathering capability, resulting in a sturdy yet powerful binocular that can go anywhere. This binocular utilizes a design that is very common in its price class. The 50mm porro body is nearly identical to several other manufacturers' offerings, and features a rubber armor with ergonomic features for comfortable viewing. The eye cups are a fold down style, and should easily accomodate eyeglass wearers. The focus and diopter mechanism are smooth, don't exhibit any grinding feel, and work well. The only thing that this binocular lacks when compared to similar models is a tripod adapter thread. The optics are very good for the price, and Celestron made sure the optics were multi-coated to protect the exterior lens surfaces from dirt and grime. Surprisingly, the image is extremely sharp, and cloudiness is less than some other inexpensive 10x50 porro models we've reviewed. Even with multi-coating and 10x magnificaiton, there is very little chromatic aberration, which is always good. The UpClose G2 10x50 is pretty standard for a 10x50 porro, and nothing really stands out as unusual. But therein lies the appeal of this binocular. For the price, you can keep these binoculars just about anywhere and not have to worry about them being damaged, yet you can always have a pair at the ready. We keep a pair of these 10x50 binoculars within reach in the office, so we always have them available. For that purpose, they are perfect. So pick up a pair for yourself, and don't worry about losing or breaking your expensive binoculars. They make a great gift for the functional observer, and a good standby for the optics geek. Shipping Policy Most orders received before 3PM Eastern Standard Time on weekdays will ship same day either via UPS Ground, USPS Priority Mail, or USPS First Class, depending on cost and transit time. We are not responsible for shipping times or transit delays caused by situations outside of our control. Due to porch pirates, scammers, and some postal employees, shipments valued at over $150 will be shipped signature required. USPS will allow you to waive this signature and release us from liability by signing a slip they leave in your mailbox when attempting delivery. No shipments over $150 will be delivered without a signature, so please don't ask. Return Policy We will accepts returns of unopened merchandise within 30 days of the original order date. All product returns require an RMA. Removal of UPC codes or serial numbers will void this return policy. All returns must be shipped signature required and insured for the original order amount.   1. Using usps is always uncertain. Initially. Tracking said delivery was Tues to Fri. Then it was wed but that changed to Thursday and then it was Wed but that became Tues and the package came on Monday. I had asked a neighbor to pick up the package in case it was left at my door. With UPS, I would get one date that never changed. Usps typically ends up a day or two later than advised. Usps is rarely delivered on the original date advised.
