Pet Shimmers a seven-member indie collective from Brighton UK is steadily gaining more enthusiastic fans with the vinyl of their debut album Face Down In Meta released in 2020 selling out in an instant attracting attention among indie listeners. Pet Shimmers is composed of a luxurious group of members with their own quirks including Oliver Wilde who is also Katy J Pearson's collaboration partner and William Carkeet who is also active with Robbie Mon and has participated in tours with artists such as Porridge Radio and Happyness in the UK. The appeal of their third album Anon Playable Cloud which will be released as a record for the first time in the world is that it is full of strange sounds. The opening track "Swan Ton" is chaotic yet colorful sparkling sounds that seem to have been made for a land of toys and the following lead track "Sonder" is just as strange and full of noise but it's also catchy and endearing. From the third or fourth track "Edgelord" through to "Wet Chems" Pet Shimmers creates a track that experimentally cooks up an indie sound reminiscent of Alex G with whom he previously supported a tour and the banjo sound used among the experimental phrases helps to create a soft feel. The songwriting which directly conveys the quality of the songs despite the really messy arrangements is one of the points that makes their experimental musicality possible. Other tracks include "Ubernormaliz" which combines shoegaze and psychedelic and "Wet Chems" which creates a moody pop feel that evokes nostalgia.
