Antique Tiger Oak Washstand Cabinet Nightstand w/ Towel Bar circa 1895–1915

Description

An antique quarter-sawn oak washstand that works beautifully today as a nightstand or accent cabinet. It retains its back posts with horizontal towel bar and original casters, a configuration typical of American washstands made circa 1895–1915. A partial paper label on the back reads “…INNIS, PEARCE & CO., RUSHVILLE, IND.,” a well-known Indiana furniture maker active from the late 19th century into the early 20th century that specialized in quality bedroom suites and case goods. Approximately 43 inches (29 inches to the dresser top plus 14 inches for the posts). Solid quarter-sawn oak with attractive ray flake figure. One full-width drawer with wooden knobs, lower cabinet with door and matching knob, with turned posts and towel bar, and metal casters for easy movement. Structurally solid and ready to use. The drawer and cabinet door operate properly and the casters roll (but may benefit from cleaning). No major cracks or breaks noted.
