In Quebec, working under Governor in Chief Earl of Dalhousie, he strived to capture the beauty of Canada and the grandeur of Quebec City, creating four expansive panoramic views. Forrest's art featured a modernist approach, though he remained unacknowledged in Dalhousie's journals. After a brief stay in Canada, he returned to England, publishing a book about his travels in India but leaving a planned work on Canada unpublished.
