6.5”Miniature Antique Bisque/Composition 1909 Recknagle Doll . Sweet 6.5-7” antique German bisque head Recknagel doll marked 1909//DEP//R 15/0 A//11 (at base of neck). It also has a composition body and working sleep eyes. Doll shows age and wear including paint loss/scuffs. Dressed in a charming later handmade folk or peasant-style costume with striped skirt, embroidered black waist panel, and lace underclothes. Brown wig appears vintage replacement. Doll shows age and wear including paint loss/scuffs. Costume is faded and worn, particularly in back. Head is without chips/cracks and 5-piece composition body is also in good condition. She could use the help of a hairdresser to maybe braid her sparse real-human-hair wig into little braids that could be worn on top of her head like a brown. This is a lovely cabinet-sized display doll with wonderful character. Thanks for looking.
