TV is back with another problem drama tonight, "The Girl Called Hatter Fox," the CBS Wednesday Night Movie at 9 on Channel 7, a dramatic look at the problems of a contemporary Indian girl. Written by Darryl Ponicsan, from a book by Marilyn Harris, "The Girl Named Hatter Fox" is so uncompromising in its portrait of Hatter's troubles that one's sympathy often gives way to puzzling exasperation. Ronny Cox is the co-star for the film and plays a doctor operating through the Bureau of Indian Affairs in the Southwest. Attempting to deal with a jail suicide by one of Hatter's contemporaries, he is attacked by Hatter and it is the beginning of a long and strange relationship. Joanelle Romero is a dynamic presence as Hatter Fox and Cox makes his role as the fascinated doctor believable. But Ms. Ferrell and John Durren, as the creepy prison guard, Claude, threaten to take over our interest from time to time because they are more interesting as people than is Hatter Fox, despite the fact that one feels sympathy for her. George Schaefer, one of TV's more respected directors, gives this film a feeling of quality, turning it into a kind of TV equivalent of "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest," only lacking that film's robust humor.Photo measures 7 x 9 inches. 2. Thank you, A+ seller! Item well packed & protected from bad weather/rough carrier handling. Shipped in a timely manner so it arrived within the estimated dates of delivery. Reasonable price; photo arrived exactly as pictured. Too bad Ebay still won't allow combined shipping when a buyer wants to buy more than one of a seller's Best Offer Accepted items. This hurts both Ebay sellers & buyers. Meanwhile, USPS rates continue to rise.
