With significant provenance, featuring the original owner Harriet Lovilla Henderson's inscription [More about her below]. Harriet Lovilla Henderson (1852–1926) was an influential figure in Los Angeles during the early 20th century, known for her dedication to esoteric studies and the empowerment of women within Masonic traditions. Residing at 1511 Reid Street, she established the Woman's Order of Esoteric Masonry, an organization that provided women with access to the study of occult sciences and Masonic symbolism. In 1922, she authored The Compass and Square with Symbolism, for Women Only, a work that highlighted her commitment to exploring and teaching the deeper meanings of Masonic symbols. Henderson's home also served as the headquarters for her organization, making it a significant hub for women's esoteric studies in Los Angeles. Her efforts were groundbreaking at a time when women's participation in such fields was often restricted, leaving a lasting legacy in the realms of mysticism and gender equality in spiritual practices.
