Description

A Very Nice Original Cover Page from the August 29th, 1883 Puck Magazine known for it's Political Satire Cartoons. This Lithograph Cartoon, The Cave of Despair" is about the Western Union Telegraph Company being a monopoly, was done by Frederick Burr Opper (1857-1937), was one of the Pioneers of American Newspaper Comic Strips. This single cover page measures; 13" tall x 9-1/2" and the backside has some advertising. There's a small age spot along the bottom title and a small right corner crease and a name written in pencil along the upper right side, but overall, this lithograph illustration is in nice antique condition and there are no odors.
